Public Screening Camps for early detection of kidney disease:

Our grateful thanks to Mr. S.V. Veeramani, The Chairman of M/s. Fourrts (India) Laboratories Pvt. Limited for the extensive help rendered towards the "World Kidney Day Activities".

Mr. Melwyn D'Souza, Senior Product Manager was very helpful and did an extremely wonderful job by getting things done well ahead of time. His team was present throughout the duration of the 3 screening camps and extended all help in making the camp a success.

We are also grateful to Mr. P. Umesh Karanth, District Manager of M/s. Pfizer Limited, for the valuable assistance rendered towards 5th World Kidney Day activities.

We received 4 boxes of Piramal Uristicks which could detect glucose, protein, ketone and micro albuminuria. The sticks were very useful in cases of known diabetics and hypertensive patients. We also received a mercurial BP apparatus, which will be very useful for our camps.

Coimbatore Arya Vaidya Pharmacy on 11th March,2010 (Between 10 am - 1 pm):

We conducted a screening camp at Arya Vaidya Pharmacy premises for the general public, for early detection of kidney disease, on 11th March 2010, which was the 5th World Kidney Day. Excellent arrangements were made for the smooth conduct of the camp.

Our sincere thanks to Mr. P.R. Krishnakumar, Managing Director, The Arya Vaidhya Pharmacy (Coimbatore) Ltd for having arranged with Podhigai and the PSG Community Radio which aired our programme that evening.

Madurai TVS Hospital on 13th March (Between 10 am - 1 pm)

The camp was held at our unit and all our staff pitched in. The programme was attended Ms. Padma. Dr. Sampath Kumar initiated the camp. Dr. Mano & Dr. Ramprasad provided invaluable help. TVS Hospital gave us their lab technicians. There were 100 registrations. Our Trustee, Mrs. Malathi Venkatesan was also present.

Ambattur Rotary Hospital on 13th March (Between 2 pm - 5 pm)

The programme was attended by Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, Dr. R. Rama and Dr. Suchitra. We also had five students from MMM College of Nursing, Nolambur. The Principal of the Nursing College - Dr. Judie was very happy that her students got an exposure while helping at the camp. There were 40 registrations.
